A story about the background of my desire to be circumcised, the way to realize this desire and what will happen afterwards.

Comments are welcome, of course, presumed that they are expressed in a serious and civilized manner, and relevant, i.e. concerns self-chosen male circumcision.

After eleven months

More than six months since the last report. "At public request" I'll try to up-date this blog, if for no other reason than telling I'm just fine!

Being circumcised is a natural part of my life, and I can hardly remember how it is to have a foreskin. My penis hasn't changed very much, as you can see in the pictures!

The other day I got an e-mail from a Swedish guy who had recently been circumcised for medical reasons. At the clinic he'd been to they had told him that they'd got lots of calls from guys asking for cosmetic circumcisions. They had been told to contact a private clinic, which is the only alternative in Sweden for such a request.

This information really surprised me! I had never expected to hear such a thing, but maybe it's true that non-medical circumcision is increasing in Sweden. The rate is very low though, so even a large increase will probably mean the rate remains very low.

  1. Nice to see your update after nearly a year. It looks good. The color change on the shaft leaves no doubt about your circ, and there is very little scarring.

  2. Thanks for the comment Alan!
With colour change I suppose you mean that my "state" is very visible?
The scarring is there, but I think it's fading slowly as all scars do. Anyway, I'm pleased!

  3. What an excellent presentation and a wonderfully clear example of what to expect for all those contemplating adult circumcision.

It also demonstrates the advantage of removing the foreskin as early in life s possible. I wasn't done as a baby but had the good fortune to be cut as a child of eight. It wasn't particularly painful and seemed to heal in a week or so with none of the swelling and disturbance and settling down you experienced or have I forgotten?

My only memory was feeling very strange 'down there' for along time. My glans had never been exposed before the operation so the rubbing on my underwear when I walked or ran was quite uncomfortable until I became used to it. I became more 'penis aware', experiencing more frequent erections than I'd had prior to being circumcised. Travelling on those old vibrating school busses could be quite embarrassing.

Greater joy came later when hormones kicked in and 'activity' with girls became very enjoyable. It was a relief to find that not having a foreskin was no disadvantage - perhaps it even enhances the experiences you can give and receive? I'll never know but I'm happy with my circumcision.

  4. Nice looking cock made even nicer with the removal of that surplus foreskin. Well done

  5. I've just been circumcised 4 days, and this site is great. Your day four pics look similar to mine, which has put my mind at rest because I was worrying about the swelling.. Your cock looks great circumcised and it has went really well for you.. I hope mine will be the same!

  6. I'm an American woman and I work at a Pre-school (infants to 5 years of age). I've noticed while changing diapers that a high percentage of the boys are not circumcised. I'd say 3 out 10 boys (per class) are actually circumcised. I was discussing this with my Husband and we both are having a hard time understanding why parents are choosing not to circumcise their boys? The penis is much more appealing without the foreskin! It seems healthier and more pleasurable so why keep the skin? Is not having your son circumcised a new trend?

Your circumcision looks fantastic. I'm sure you're pleased it. I'm only sorry you had to wait until your were an adult to have it done. Thank you for sharing your journey.

    1. You'd be correct! It is a trend - or rather circumcising is the trend. It has been around for a couple thousand years (which is not a long time in the grand scope of things) and I imagine it will slowly fade out in the next millennium to come, definitely in the next century or two in America.

We've seen a drastic decline in the circ rate in America since routine infant circumcisions aren't being performed as much. I think of cosmetic adult male circumcision kind of like nipple piercings or any other body mod like that (except much bigger effects): it's a very small niche of guys who want to go through with it, but if indeed that's what they're into, they love it and welcome the changes it brings into their lifestyle.

I'm an intact American and am so proud of it. (So weird that I'm proud to be natural simply because so many aren't.) Location plays a huge factor, as does age. I'm 25 and from the Midwest. I knew of just a handful of intact guys growing up. Now, I live in NYC. Lots of guys are intact, my age and older. In almost any location in the U.S. today, however, you can expect to see between 25-60% of boys getting circumcised (exe: only about 25% on the West Coast, 60% in the Midwest where I'm from.) That's a big change. The average is now only about 50% of guys getting circumcised, whereas when I was an infant the average rate was something lik 85%. I was a lucky one :p

    2. (cont.) Anonymous, I do want to address a few things you said because they are incorrect. The penis being appealing is your own opinion and you would more than likely not hold this opinion if you grew up in a country where circumcision was abnormal. While I think foreskins look better, I, too, can admire the look of a cut penis. Nothing changes the fact that they don't work correctly though. Yes, my perspective says that a circumcised penis doesn't work - at least not fully! I'm not saying you're not going to feel an orgasm, that the guy can't produce semen, etc. ... but for sexual partners, the foreskin-rich penis is sooo much easier to use. Intact penises are clean just like circumcised penises (they're just not bland and dry lol), and circumcision has no proven health beneifts that outweigh the risks of the procedure. The sensation may change after circumcision to become more rich, but numerous studies show that this is not the case - certainly not over time, when sensation is said to decrease - and the claim that men make that they "last longer" during sex after circumcision clearly points out that it takes more stimulation to reach orgasm...aka they have less feeling...aka stimulation of the penis is less pleasurable. So I ask YOU: Why TAKE AWAY the skin!? There is no logical reason to do so, and the ethical grounds against removing a child's foreskin are simple, clear, and unwavering. If the child wants the skin to be removed, he may choose to do so like this very happy blogger.

This blogger appears to be very satisfied, and so as long as that's the case, congratulations to him. I can't help but notice the bizarre incision point the doctor used on this circumcision, though. It was made directly in the middle of outer foreskin whereas I believe it is usually made to where the raw edge of inner and the raw edge of outer are joined together after the circumcision, creating the stereotypical two-toned circ scar. This blogger has a very odd complexity of skin colorings and shapes that I've not seen before. Maybe the Swedish doctor wasn't as familiar with this procedure as the routine lop-it-off Americans that I'm used to? It looks like he did something a little bit abnormal here?? Interesting... but that would definitely explain the discussion about this being a looser circ than anticipated. It isn't as smooth or seemingly as tight because of the way in which the frenulum and inner foreskin were left.

I'm an intactivist. Keep your foreskin, boys. Unless you've got psychological insecurities because of it (which I understand completely having gone through a lot with this myself when I was growing up!), don't ger circumcised. Psychological issues with having your foreskin can be discussed and reckoned with.

Sure, sometimes I'd like to know what it is like to have a circumcised penis. But I'd also like to know what it would be like to have a vagina haha...and I mean that in the most normal way possible: it's nothing more than curiosity. Curiosity killed the cat - or in this case, curiosity killed a lot of sensation and normal function for some guys. Today, I prefer to sleep with men who have a foreskin. To be honest, it's always a bit of a disappointment when i come across a cut one. I'll love anyone regardless, of course, but it's just not the same. To use a foreskin is like going down a hill on a sliip-n-slide. To not have a foreskin is like going down a hill by scooting through the grass on your ass. You'll get to the bottom, but one is smooth and fun and the other leaves you worn out and wondering why it was so difficult.

It's important to note that the fact that this person's circumcision isn't a *perfect* one shows that there is a varying degree of success with these surgeries. He got fairly lucky, but what if the doctor's work caused functional issues like removal of too much tissue?

    Thank you for your comment!

I'm very pleased with being circumcised. Circumcision traditions are very different on each side of the Atlantic ocean. No-one knows what will happen in the future, but one thing is sure, habits and cultures change!

However, in this forum I will not debate circumcision of non-adult male individuals. I have, honestly, no strong opinion in favour of either pro or contra.

My view is though that respect should be shown towards any choice people make on this matter.

I wish you all the best, and hope you'll be as proud to demonstrate your "new" penis as I am! :-)

  9. I'm from Italy and I'm circumcised since i was 12 years old. Here, this practice is not widespread, but I think that's important. I'm proud to be cut!

  10. @Anonymous from Italy:
Thank you for your comment. I think all of Europe is more or less the same, with few circumcisions performed. But we are a few cut men anyway, and it's always good to hear from others, and very pleasing to hear that your proud too. Good for you to be circumcised already at 12. How old are you now?

  11. I'm 31 right now and women are happy to stay with a circumcised man...they prefer a circumcised penis

  12. Yes. I love circumcision. Everybody should be cut!

I wish my is like that...

  14. Hey am 22 years old and from Kenya and just got the procedure done 8 days ago, my cut seems to be tighter than yours, the night time erections hurt as hell but it's a small price to pay. going back for a routine check up today with my doctor. your page has really helped me know what to expect and for that i salute you.

  15. Sorry to ask but how has sex been after circumcision for both you and your partner(s)? That's based on the assumption you've had sex, obviously.

  16. I don't have any permanent partner, so I can only compare from my own perspective. The physical contact between my penis and another person is more enjoyable, that's one thing I can say for sure.
Maybe there's no big difference, but definitely there is a difference!

  17. Wow so glad I found this today 23/02/12 as I am being circumsised in 4 days time for medical reasons. I am 47 years old and very nervous. However the clarity of your pictures is fantastic and I am feeling happier about what to expect as the days and weeks go by.

Thank you so much for having the courage and thoughtfullness to create this blog, really appreciate it!

If my result looks half as good as yours I will be a happy chap!

    Thanks again

  20. Great to share your whole experience, thanks for publishing. Especially the pictures which at times look a bit uncomfortable but worth a bit of discomfort. You do not say whether your partner likes the finished result but I am sure they do. My wife is a nurse and does prefer circumcised men and I know she has had circumcised lovers before me, I am uncut by the way, and I am considering getting cut for her. A big step for any man who has the choice. Not sure if I will be making my experience public though.

    1. If you would like a circumcision, then go ahead. But when you say you consider having it done for your wife, I recommend you think it over an extra time! My recommendation is that you don't do it for anyone else than yourself. If you and your wife would separate one day, would you regret being circumcised just for her? Then don't do it! Otherwise: Go ahead, and good luck!

  21. Growing up uncut in the UK I developed a curiosity about circumcision as a boy when a good friend of mine was circumcised for medical reasons, I liked how his circumcised cock looked after it was all healed up and when I went to High School I realised about 20% of the boys I saw in the communal showers after gym were cut and I really thought they looked better than those of us with foreskins.

In my early 20's I came to live in Sydney Australia soon realised that the vast majority of Aussie men were circumcised and that many Aussie girls had never seen a uncut cock and I started to think more and more about what it would be like to be circumcised and live without a foreskin.

Nine years ago I finally found out when I was circumcised just before my 50th birthday as a present to myself and I very pleased with how my cock looks and feels and would never want my foreskin back.

  22. I am British and un curcumcised. I am 54 years of age and have always had a clean and well used cock. I have been masturbating since I was 15, have a very active sex life and am confused by the obsession with circumcision. If it is done for religious reasons then i think it is done through control and not of preferance. If done for purely choice then that is another matter. I would never be circumcised unless I had no choice. I have a sensitive penis and enjoy great sexual feeling though it. I always think a circ penis must be dry and unpleasant though I say well done to you for having the balls to do it...
